BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will be registered as a voter in Ward No. 19 of the Gulshan area under the Dhaka-17 constituency. At the same time, his daughter Zaima Rahman has also completed voter registration and National Identity Card (NID) formalities.
The Election Commission (EC) has stated that there are no legal complications regarding Tarique Rahman’s voter registration. According to Section 15 of the Voter List Act, the Election Commission has the authority to register any eligible person as a voter at any time. Therefore, there is no legal barrier in this case.
Earlier today, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, and offered prayers. He paid the visit at around 11:30 am at the University of Dhaka. During the visit, Tarique Rahman also paid floral tributes at the mausoleum of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
